A considerable time will pass before humanity's mind will concern itself with thoughts that concern the salvation of the soul. Everything spiritual is still a concept of the improbable for it, it is not yet willing to surrender its earthly interests. And self-love is an obstacle to recognise what is most important in earthly life .... the soul's higher development. The degree of love is decisive for the recognition of truth.

However, anyone who loves himself more than his neighbour is still far from recognising the truth. For self-love is nothing divine, it strives for earthly goods and can therefore never have redeeming power. The human being will only become free when he puts his own ego aside and his actions and thoughts are only directed towards making his neighbour's earthly fate bearable, then his soul will be free of its covering and it will no longer regard earthly life as the most important thing but will concern itself with spiritual life, with life after death and its actual earthly task. The human being will always reject every spiritual truth as long as his soul has not yet broken through the shell around him. One is the consequence of the other, and anyone who stands in realisation tries in vain to break through the barriers in order to help his fellow human being, yet he should not become despondent, for God Himself helps where the human being's strength is insufficient.

There is no other way to turn such people's minds but drastic changes which make them realise the decrepitude of what they previously aspired to as important. And this is what the coming time will bring about, so that many will become thoughtful if they pay attention to what is happening around them. He will see changes take place, he will see people pass away and his view of life will be greatly shaken. And blessed will be he who draws his conclusions from this, who does not pass by thoughtlessly and remembers his actual purpose .... to help all those who need help ....

For these redeem themselves through the love they extend to their fellow human beings, for they become sighted .... They make contact with the eternal Deity, Who is Love Itself, and now the scales fall from his eyes. God wants to help these people and therefore He sends them a little light so that the darkness of spirit in them will be broken through.

But people often flee the bright light and remain in darkness, which is part of God's adversary. And therefore again and again the love of the fellow human being must be ready to give them enlightenment, and every thought will be blessed which applies to such poor in spirit. To pray for their souls while they are still on earth will earn him the help of the beings in the beyond, for these will not cease their efforts, and what speech cannot achieve can be achieved through faithful prayer .....

All previous views can be shaken and the human being can be guided into a completely new way of thinking, and now the soul will constantly strive upwards. It is necessary for God Himself to intervene, because only that which seems completely strange and extraordinary will still be paid attention to, for without a violent shaking of earthly life the human being's mind will hardly turn to spiritual problems. And the soul is therefore in greatest danger. But the moment will be dreadful, yet it is inevitable, for the gentle indications will not be heeded, and the earthly time will pass by and neither bring redemption nor realisation to the soul ....
